Transit seems NOT to be Listening to us

  • in June 2006 the Gisborne public was asked for feedback on this issue - the Gisborne Chamber of Commerce polled their 220 members and had 100 percent opposition to imposing speed limits - they continued with their agenda.

  • in Monday evenings Gisborne Herald and on local radio on Monday a "Public Meeting" was promoted - but it was a "Roadshow" only with limited opportunity to let Transit or Opus know our views.

  • during the "roadshow" Transit and Opus staff seemed to indicate the decision had been made - they certainly did not listen to any points of view with an open mind.
